SAM Talks
Tamiko Thiel, a media artist currently living in Munich, Germany, will discuss her virtual-reality installation The Travels of Mariko Horo with Yukiko Shirahara, John A. McCone Foundation Curator of Asian Art. Thiel's installation is on view at 911 Media Arts Center concurrent with Japan Envisions the West: 16th-19th Century Japanese Art from Kobe City Museum. Finally, an opportunity to be a part of the conversation! The Creatively Speaking series provides a forum for artists to explain the philosophies underlying their work and for audiences to ask the questions they rarely have a chance to ask. SAM aims to be unique among cultural institutions by integrating artists into the fabric of the museum.
