School and Teacher Programs
What do Michelangelo Buonarroti (1475–1564) and Alexander Calder (1898–1976) have in common? Both were multi-talented artists whose creative processes often intersected with the disciplines of math, engineering and physics. Through discussion, gallery tours and inquiry-based activities, participants in this educator workshop will explore how the study of artists like Michelangelo and Calder can facilitate interdisciplinary instruction in K–12 classrooms. Workshop participants receive teaching materials, four Washington State Clock Hours and lunch. Related Programs: Free Educator Preview, Alexander Calder school tours, and Michelangelo Public and Private school tours.
