SAM is excited to welcome back our 14th annual celebration of el Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) at the Olympic Sculpture Park.
Join us for a family-friendly artist reception with live music from La Banda Gozona, a calavera mask-making activity, cultural food, a poetry reading by students from the Lake Washington Girls Middle School, and performances by the Grupo Guelaguetza and Grupo Cultural Oaxaqueño dance troupes! As you enjoy the evening's celebrations, view a tapete (sand painting) inspired by Oaxaca’s beautiful traditions for celebrating el Día de los Muertos and made by artist Fulgencio Lazo in collaboration with community members.
