Celebrate Seattle arts and culture with SAM’s exhibition Modernism in the Pacific Northwest: The Mythic and the Mystical and new art at the Olympic Sculpture Park including Trimpin’s YOU ARE HEAR and Jaume Plensa’s Echo during this creative night out.

Some of the night's activities:

  • DJ Utopia gets you in the groove.

  • KEXP’s DJ Sharlese spins so you can dance all night under the stars.

  • Bobbi Rich brings the online variety show Hangin Tuff to Remix, featuring local bandsDuke Evers and Gazebos, and dance performances by Hypernova.

  • With watercolors, poses found in Northwest School paintings, and live models with extravagant beards, artist Wayne Bund, teaches you to depict beards on paper.

  • The Northwest Film Forum curates a series of short films in relation to Modernism in the Pacific Northwest.

  • Visiting from Japan, IMERUAT (meaning “flash of light") performs their unique mix of progressive compositions and traditional Ainu music as the sun begins to set.

Experience the park in new and unexpected ways with My Favorite Things: Highly Opinionated Tours led by artists, community figures, and special guests:

  • Lead Pencil Studio, art & architecture collaborative with Annie Han and Daniel Mihalyo

  • Forest Eckley, designer and co-founder of Glasswing Shop

  • Elizabeth Spavento, curator of ALL RISE, a series of performances and temporary installations at City Light’s future Denny Substation this summer.

  • Kat Larson, cross-disciplinary artist

  • Cynthia Updegrave, University of Washington Botanist
