A Constant Entertainment: A View of Venice from Canaletto's Studio
Chiyo Ishikawa, Susan Brotman Deputy Director for Art and Curator of European Painting & Sculpture
Jeffrey Carlson, Collections Coordinator

A high-caliber replica of an original composition by celebrated Venetian artist Antonio Canal, known as Canaletto, this painting has not been shown in many years. Following conservation and research, it will go on view this winter with other Venetian paintings from SAM’s collection. Learn about Canaletto’s popularity in the 18th century and how technical examination can help us better understand the origins of the work.

Conversations with Curators offers members the chance to hear from our outstanding curators as they share rich stories about the art at SAM.

Lectures are held Wednesday evenings at the Seattle Art Museum. Doors open at 6 pm for Happy Hour in the South Hall where you can enjoy complimentary wine and light snacks. Curator talks begin at 7 pm in Plestcheeff Auditorium.

Single tickets: Members $7 / Public $10
Series ticket packages are not available to the general public.
