One Vibe Africa presents photographs from the Piga Picha Project, a creative entrepreneurship program that mentors photographers in Kenya. Students from Kisumu, Kenya worked with Seattle photographer Meg Stacker in photography workshops, learning photography skills and editing suite programs. These artworks in this show explore the experience of living in the third largest port city in Kenya and how creativity helps inspire and empower.
One Vibe Africa is a Seattle non-profit organization whose mission is to educate the general public about African culture, promote the arts, and use its creative programs and events in Seattle to promote social welfare, and economic empowerment. One Vibe’s activities include the Madaraka Festival held annually at the Museum of Pop Culture and an Education Music and Art Program in Kisumu, Kenya.
