Ideas de México: MEXAM Northwest Festival

Sep 14 2018

Seattle Art Museum

Plestcheeff Auditorium

11 AM – 12:30 PM

Join SAM and MEXAM Northwest Festival for the second edition of Ideas from México, a series of high-impact short lectures highlighting the exceptional talent and ingenuity of artists, doers, thinkers, and creatives. #ArtAmbassadorsMX is a window into the stories behind individuals whose remarkable careers have consistently championed the culture and arts of México as sources of inspiration, wisdom, and creative energy on the international stage.

MEXAM believes in the power of storytelling and individual perspectives as agents of connection and human understanding and champions the arts as means for transcultural dialogue. MEXAM recognizes the persistent need for spaces of humanizing those perceived as others. Their vision is one of empathy, respect, and praise for the universal, enduring bond of humanity that transcends all divides.

MEXAM Northwest Festival celebrates the enduring friendship between Mexico and the United States, the driving force of contemporary Mexican culture in the world, as well as the invaluable contributions of the Mexican-American community, and the powerful, bustling cultural landscape of Seattle.

The Seattle Art Museum acknowledges that we are located on the ancestral land of the Coast Salish people.
