Community Gallery: We Are America, Who Are We?

Oct 3 – 28 2018

Seattle Art Museum

First Floor Corridor

10 AM – 5 PM

We Are America, Who Are We? a project by Coyote Central, came from a desire to take a critical look at the diverse constituents of our country through the eyes of the young people who have an active voice, but aren’t often heard by leadership or those in power. Inspired by the quilting styles prevalent in many cultures throughout history these visual artists tell their stories of identity, of values, of dreams. A pop-up performance during Peacock in the Desert: Community Opening Celebration will include actresses, dancers, and drag artists sharing stories of presence and connection in an ever emerging digital age.

In a time where not all voices and stories are heard we are proud to hear and see these youth. They are the leaders of today.
