Behind the Scenes: Liz Brown

Dec 2 2020

Seattle Art Museum

Online

5 PM – 6 PM

Join us for Outside SAM’s Walls: Conserving Art at the Olympic Sculpture Park, the second talk in our new free three-part member-only Behind the Scenes lecture series, with Liz Brown, SAM's Senior Objects Conservator.

SAM's Olympic Sculpture Park is home to many large-scale works of art—all of which stay outside in our famous Northwest weather throughout the entire year. The elements these works are exposed to, and how the materials they're made of react to those elements, present unique challenges as we maintain them for future generations. Learn about the techniques our conservators utilize to counteract these challenges, from repainting specific works to collaborating on a major refabrication project.

This is a member-only event. The registration link will be sent via email. Questions? Contact us at 206.654.3210 or membership@seattleartmuseum.org.
