Joyce Scott: Let Me Tell You a Story

Catharina Manchanda / Jon & Mary Shirley Curator of Modern & Contemporary Art

A jewelry maker and sculptor, Joyce Scott is a storyteller and artist-activist. Her visually seductive glass and bead sculptures speak of racism, sexism, war, and resistance. Black women take center stage, starting with War Woman II, a recent SAM acquisition.
