Join us in the Brotman Forum as the Seattle Weavers Guild (SWG) offers a hands-on demonstration of the steps involved in the ikat weaving process. SWG will provide 12 magic heddle looms, pre-warped with thick fiber that can be “dyed” using markers to simulate the resist dye process that is used to create an ikat pattern.
The Seattle Weavers Guild was founded in 1937 with twenty three members. Today, SWG is among the five largest guilds in the country, consisting of well over 300 members.
This event is free and open to the public.
