Precious Prints
This workshop will begin with a guided art adventure in the galleries featuring artworks on view in
Hokusai: Inspiration and Influence from the Collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
In the art studio, explore woodcut printmaking, a type of relief printmaking in which a block of wood is carved, leaving a raised image. The ink is applied to the raised areas and then pressed onto the paper through a printing press or by hand. All participants are invited to try their hand at carving their own woodcut block or printing from existing blocks designed and cut by artist,
Juliana Kang Robinson.
Young Artists Workshops are designed to tailor to the needs of families with children ages 6-12.
Public tickets are $35 for one adult and up to two kids, and $20 for SAM members. Additional participants are $10 each, members included.
