DESCRIPTION:Join SAM’s 2024-25 Constance W. Rice Fellow\, Carina A. del Rosario (she/he
 r)\, in the studio to participate in a sewing circle as part of her Lay You
 r Burden Down art project. Participants will learn basic sewing and embroid
 ery techniques that they'll use to embellish "burdens" that community membe
 rs have written and shared ahead of time. Carina will use the embellished p
 ieces to create a larger textile artwork that will be installed at Seattle 
 Art Museum at a later time. No prior sewing experience is necessary. Please
  register as seating is limited.\nThe Constance W. Rice Fellowship\, inspir
 ed by SAM’s past Board of Trustees Chair\, is an equity-driven program that
  provides space\, time\, and other resources to support a local BIPOC artis
 t whose practice includes working with young people to create their art.
