DESCRIPTION:SAM Body + Mind Activity Days feature all-ages movement classes\, art activ
 ities\, sound baths\, and much more—all designed to integrate your physical
  and mental being. \nKick off a new season of SAM Body + Mind with art expe
 riences centered around mindfulness\, healing\, and restorative practices. 
 Move your body with Dance Church\, cozy up with your favorite book during W
 est Seattle Book Club’s silent reading hour\, experience a sound bath with 
 Biom\, and more! \nAll programming is free and all ages. Space is limited a
 nd activities are first come\, first served.\n8:30 am\nDoors open \n9–10 am
 \nDance Church\nNamed 'the best dance workout' by WIRED Magazine and 'a sta
 te of therapeutic release' by Vanity Fair\, Dance Church® is an all-levels 
 movement class that offers a fun and inclusive approach to dancing. Join th
 is 60ish minute class in a series of movement cues\, accompanied by a curat
 ed playlist of multi-genre pop music. The format is open but guided through
 out. No previous training is required\, but open-mindedness is a prerequisi
 te. All participants are required to sign a waiver to join the class.\n10 a
 m–2 pm\nMindful art activities with Northwest Creative &amp\; Expressive Ar
 ts Institute (NWCEAI)\nNWCEAI is a Seattle-based non-profit organization co
 mmitted to providing exceptional education and training in the creative and
  expressive arts. NWCEAI believes that by promoting the value of creativity
  as a recognized\, respected\, and integral part of human services\, we hon
 or the human experience. \nLetter writing with A Resting Place\nDerek Orbis
 o Dizon is the owner of A Resting Place\, a grief and loss cultural center 
 located in the Seattle Chinatown-International District. He is a Filipino A
 merican multidisciplinary artist\, social worker\, and grief companion resi
 ding in the ancestral lands of the Duwamish People (Seattle\, WA). Much of 
 Dizon’s creative works revolve around his path of navigating mourning and r
 emembrance using mediums of storytelling\, illustration\, and installation\
 , as ritual to commemorate memories of love and ancestry that have passed o
 n. \nDreamstation by Mia Imani\nYou deserve to rest. Sleep impacts every as
 pect of our lives—the ability to be mentally\, physically\, emotionally\, a
 nd spiritually balanced directly relates to our quality of rest. Dreamstati
 on is a relaxation space curated by dream doula Mia Imani\, an invitation t
 o immerse ourselves in a moment of respite. The pop-up space features soft 
 surfaces\, tools\, and practices for personal and collective rest and inten
 tional introspection. This space offers stillness and the opportunity to en
 vision a world where mindfulness and healing are core values. We deserve to
  dream. \n10:30 am–12:30 pm\nSilent reading with West Seattle Book Club\nWe
 st Seattle Book Club is focused on cultivating neighborhood gatherings wher
 e all are welcome to come just as they are\, to read together\, feel and be
  a part of a community\, and experience literary joy.\nLive Music by Shelby
  Natasha\nShelby Natasha is a songwriter and music producer in Seattle\, Wa
 shington. Heavily influenced by her upbringing living between China and the
  Pacific Northwest\, her music is a blend of alt-RnB and Chinese folk music
 . She plays the Chinese traditional instrument\, Guzheng\, on top of lofi b
 eats\, interweaving the folk music of her roots with modern production. \n1
 –2 pm\nSound bath by Biom\nBiom is sharing a one-hour experience of sound h
 ealers playing in concert. Biom uses sound\, plant\, and light therapy to h
 elp clear the mind\, release stressful energy\, and reach a deep meditative
  state. All of the instruments are acoustic\, using the resonance of crysta
 l bowls and metal gongs to wash your body with waves of healing frequencies
 . The vibrations help to loosen up stagnant energy throughout the body whic
 h can relieve tension. Biom is a studio space located in Seattle's Internat
 ional District.\nHot drinks and snacks will be for sale in the cafe hosted 
 by Shooby Doo.
