g film selections are curated by Scarecrow Video and are related to Beyond
 Mysticism: The Modern Northwest.\nHilma(Dir. Lasse Hallström\, 2023\, 1 hr
54 min) Hilma is a richly crafted biographical drama that immerses you in t
he life and visionary spirit of Swedish artist Hilma af Klint\, a pioneerin
g abstract painter whose spiritually charged work was largely unknown durin
g her lifetime. The film follows her from early artistic ambitions through
deep personal loss\, spiritual exploration in Theosophy and séances\, and t
he radical creation of abstract art long before it was recognized by histor
y\, highlighting her unconventional relationships and the mystical forces t
hat drove her creativity. Portrayed in youth by Tora Hallström and in later
years by Lena Olin\, Hilma celebrates a woman ahead of her time\, whose le
gacy reshaped the art world following the posthumous acclaim of her groundb
 reaking work.
