DESCRIPTION:Gather your ghouls and don your finest frock–this Halloween\, the Seattle A
 rt Museum invites you to revel\, cackle\, and cavort with us at Remix. This
  spine-tingling Halloween party is inspired by Farm to Table: Art\, Food\, 
 and Identity in the Age of Impressionism\, the spooky brilliance of Goya’s 
 etchings\, and 19th century Romance. Spirits of the past will haunt the nig
 ht alongside gothic glamor\, surreal light shows\, and fog-drenched ghost s
 tories designed to disturb.\nExplore SAM’s galleries where hunger meets hor
 ror. Race to solve a paranormal mystery before the clock strikes midnight. 
 Expect thrilling performances\, chillingly prolific DJs\, and movie screeni
 ngs tinged with psychological horror. Create keepsakes in hands-on art stat
 ions\, strike a pose in a blood-red portrait booth\, or walk the catwalk in
  a costume competition (details below). You can even learn the waltz with a
  ghostly regency ensemble\, if you dare!\nStay as the museum slips into a f
 ever dream. This Remix is no ordinary gathering—it’s a descent into bountif
 ul madness.\nCostumes encouraged! Enjoy the night’s Gothic theme—creepy\, m
 ysterious\, and inspired by 19th-century monsters and madness. Come dressed
  to distress\, but please remember attire must follow the SAM Visitor polic
 ies:\n\nPublic decency: Shoes\, tops\, and bottoms must be worn while insid
 e the Seattle Art Museum. No bathing suit attire is permitted.\nFace coveri
 ngs: Visitors may not wear any masks\, hoods\, or full-face paint which obs
 cures the majority of the face or covers the head completely. Medical masks
  and religious coverings are welcome.\nLoose decorative materials: Glitter\
 , rice\, flower petals\, sand\, confetti\, fake blood\, and any other loose
  decorative materials are not permitted. Any machinery that produces fog\, 
 snow\, bubbles\, foam\, fire\, or smoke is also not allowed.\nWeapons: Rega
 rdless of licenses or permits\, absolutely no weapons of any kind are allow
 ed on museum property.\nSmoking: No smoking or vaping is allowed inside any
  museum property or within 25 feet of any public entrance.\nBalloons: No li
 ghter-than-air (helium) balloons of any kind are allowed.\nPlants: No plant
  material\, such as flowers\, branches\, leaves\, or other organic material
 \, is allowed in the galleries.\nLive animals Animals and insects are not p
 ermitted except for service animals.\n\nPlease note that access to the gall
 eries ends at 11 pm\, so be sure to plan your visit accordingly. The festiv
 ities will continue on until midnight in the Brotman Forum!\n\n\nWhat's hap

 ts educator\, and multi-disciplinary performance artist Tootsie Spangles wi
 ll keep the night moving\, grooving\, and spooking in the Brotman Forum. Me
 et her in the South Hall at 10 pm for the SAM Remix costume contest!\n8–9:3
 0 pm\nSelf-proclaimed weirdo and outright conjurer of the vibe\, 20-year DJ
  veteran Kadeejah Streets knows no bounds\, pulls no punches\, and leaves n
 o doubt in any of his wild\, flavorsome performances. Kick off your evening
  with his flawlessly executed\, sinister\, heady\, dark DJ set.\n9:30–11 pm
 \nDJ Coffin Birth is a known and beloved entity in the Seattle goth communi
 ty. Rip up the dance floor to their impeccable darkwave\, EBM\, trip hop\, 
 and genre-expanding playlist.\n11–11:15 pm\nWitness a raucous regency ballr
 oom dance featuring live music from Joy Street Orchestra&rsquo\;s string qu
 artet. Learn the waltz from Dean Paton of the Reverie Ballroom and join in 
 to the 19th century-inspired dance party.\n11:15 pm–midnight\nSeattle-based
  dark wave artist Dark Chisme fuses industrial\, synth-pop\, EBM\, post-pun
 k\, and techno\, all intertwined with their Latin roots. They’ll close the 
 night with a chilling\, raucous DJ set\, sure to drive you mad on the dance
  floor.\nSouth Hall\n8–10 pm\nSOFIIAK is a PNW-based interdisciplinary arti
 st who DJs\, produces\, and performs in the electroclash realm. They’ll bri
 ng their signature punk ethos and biting ambition to their intense\, explos
 ive DJ set.\n10–11 pm\nHalloween costume contest hosted by Tootsie Spangles
 : Proud of your costume? Feeling ready to strut the runway? Enter the SAM R
 emix Halloween costume contest for your chance to win an outstanding SAM pr
 ize. Categories: Best overall\, Spookiest\, and Most art historical.\nAll c
 ompetitors will walk the costume runway on the South Hall stairs and will b
 e judged by a highly esteemed panel including SAM Art Handler Drew Davis\, 
 Seattle’s beloved upcycling stylist Dan McLean\, and crafty cosplaying extr
 aordinaire SmallRiniLady.\n\nCostumes of all types are welcome and encourag
 ed! We celebrate costume enthusiasts and art lovers of all skill and costum
 ing familiarity levels. \nContest entry limited to 25 entrants. Sign up at 
 the bottom of the South Hall stairs by 9:30 pm or until the list is filled.

  Sister (1929) and Blindfold (1928).\n\n\nLes Betes (2024): A dark fantasy 
 inspired by works of Polish-Russian stop-motion pioneer Ladislas Starevich.
  Directed by three-time Emmy Award winner Michael Granberry.\n\n\nSisters: 
 An exploration into the dark duality of the feminine. Directed by Kelly Jun
 e Mitchell and Lisa Van Dam Bates. Mitchell is a photographer with a BFA fr
 om Parsons School of Design. Dam-Bates is an autistic writer\, editor\, and
  filmmaker known for her feminist horror feature MARLA MAE.\n\n\nSiren (202
 2): Curious events unfold through the ancient lens of a fisherman on the Pa
 cific Coast in bygone days. Directed by Maximilian Monson\, a multi-media a

 duo Shadow Girls Cult presents “Beneath the Veil of Shadows\,” a selection 
 of short horror-filled live animation vignettes. Each show runs roughly 20 
 minutes long\, with a 5 minute liquid light preshow offering.\n4th Floor Ga
 lleries | Ghost Stories in the Galleries\nFollow the screams to witness spo
 oktacular\, spine-chilling ghost stories by local storytellers inspired by 
 SAM’s collection. Series curated by Zoe Walker\, producer for the Moth and

 ; 9:30 pm | Isabella Von Ghoul\nDuring a class assignment in film school\, 
 Isabella von Ghoul has a supernatural experience in a former plantation tha

 elain Room\n8:45 pm &amp\; 9:45 pm | Katie Glasser\nA blissful relationship
  quickly takes a turn when something sinister comes between Katie and their
  partner. Meet at the 4th floor escalators.\n4th Floor Farm to Table exhibi
 tion\n9 &amp\; 10pm | Katharine Strange\nStrange shares the story of young 
 bride who moves into a crumbling Victorian house only to realize that odd r
 oommates and a sketchy landlord are its least problematic inhabitants. Meet
