DESCRIPTION:Join us for a series of talks designed and dedicated to promoting understan
 ding of Asia and the Asian diaspora. Hear from Asian and Asian American art
 ists\, writers\, business and community leaders\, and others engaged with A
 sia\, on their work\, ideas\, experiences\, and impact. Central themes will
  include arts and culture\, policy and business\, technology\, sustainabili
 ty\, and education. This speaker series is a collaboration between Asia Soc
 iety Seattle and Seattle Art Museum.\nDuring this special fireside chat wit
 h MiMi Aung\, a Burmese-American space engineer\, we’ll learn about her bre
 akthrough role leading the first powered\, controlled flight by an aircraft
  on another planet as project leader of NASA’s Mars Ingenuity Helicopter. L
 isten in as she shared about her current work at Amazon’s Project Leo\, the
  company’s low-Earth-orbit satellite network. The discussion will explore h
 er personal journey\, the role of creativity in innovation\, and the import
 ance of representation in science and technology. This program will be mode
 rated by author and educator specializing in space policy\, international r
 elations\, and ethnic identity\, Namrata Goswami.\n
