With Dedon's expert facilitation, Jones will explore the depths of her work, revealing the influences that have shaped her artistic journey and her artworks on view in Poke in the Eye: Art of the West Coast Counterculture, offering a unique opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of Jones's contributions to the art world.
Fay Jones, born in Boston, Massachusetts, is a distinguished artist who graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design. In 1960, she relocated to Seattle, where she has been an active and prominent figure in the art scene since 1970.
Jones has been honored with numerous accolades throughout her career, including two NEA grants, the Yvonne Twining Humber Award, a grant from the Joan Mitchell Foundation, and an ArtistTrust residency in La Napoule, France. In 1996, the Boise Art Museum organized a 20-year retrospective of her work, which also traveled to the Washington State University Museum and the Seattle Art Museum.
Her art is featured in numerous public and private collections, and she is represented by Studio e in Seattle, the James Harris Gallery in Dallas, and the Russo Lee Gallery in Portland.
