My Favorite Things Tour

Aug 10 2018

Seattle Art Museum

Simonyi Special Exhibition Galleries

NOON – 12:30 PM

Join Indigenous educators, artists, and community members for a tour of the exhibition Double Exposure: Edward S. Curtis, Marianne Nicolson, Tracy Rector, Will Wilson. My Favorite Things Tours respond to four distinct artists who represent—or, misrepresent—Native Americans.

This tour will be led by Rebecca Cesspooch.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER

Rebecca Cesspooch is a Two Spirit/Queer, Ute/Assiniboine/Nakota contemporary artist that weaves together surrealism, body, and visual art to challenge the authenticity of perception and reclaim the narrative on colonialism and identity at the intersections of race, power, gender, and sexuality. Born on the Uintah and Ouray reservation in northeastern Utah, Rebecca has been a long time resident of the Salish Sea area where she acts as a community organizer and workshop facilitator.

Tours begin on the fourth floor, in the first gallery of the exhibition. Each tour lasts 30 minutes and is included in the cost of admission.
