SAM Gallery Presents: Printing the PNW

Dec 6 – 31 2023

Seattle Art Museum

SAM Gallery

10 AM – 5 PM

Join us for Printing the PNW in December at SAM Gallery.

After visiting Hokusai: Inspiration and Influence, visit SAM Gallery to see prints created by local artists influenced by Japanese printmaking techniques and stories.

Kerstin Graudins practices all types of printmaking, including etching, lithography, block printing, and screen printing. Nikki Jabbora-Barber creates woodblock prints, where each carefully carved layer expands a single moment or experience. Artist Jueun Shin explores sea creatures from her memories in her layered print works. Minami Wrigley implements intaglio and etching techniques in her landscape prints of the Pacific Northwest and Japan.

Meet the artists at our Opening Reception on Saturday, December 9 from 2-4 pm.

Whidbey Island, Nikki Jabbora-Barber, multi-layered reduction woodcut, 14 x 11 in.

Seattle Art Museum respectfully acknowledges that we are on Indigenous land, the traditional territories of the Coast Salish people. We honor our ongoing connection to these communities past, present, and future.
