Creature Collab: John Muir & Franklin Student Art Show

May 2 – 19 2024

Seattle Asian Art Museum

Lower Lobby

10 AM – 5 PM

For years, Seattle Public Schools art teachers Julie Trout and Stacy Schierholz have fostered incredible student collaborations through a special yearlong art project shared by kindergarten and high school students. At John Muir Elementary, Julie’s kindergarten art classes create fantastical creatures on paper—with as many eyes, horns, and tentacles as they can imagine. After these drawings are shared with Stacy, her Franklin High School ceramics classes bring these beings to life in the kiln!

This student art show celebrates John Muir kindergarten teacher Nhi Le, whose class is featured in the Seattle Art Museum Community Gallery.

The Seattle Asian Art Museum Community Gallery is free to access and open to all.
