Emerging Arts Leader Perspectives: Sculpted Voices

Jul 5 2024

Olympic Sculpture Park

Pedestrian Path

NOON – 1 PM

Emerging Arts Leaders represent the next generation of arts and museum professionals. Weaving together cross-disciplinary project work, hands-on training with SAM staff, and a diverse range of lived experiences, these interns bring vibrant and relevant perspectives to the research, interpretation, and programming that SAM uses to bring art to life.

Join Isis Ishino Amen, Emerging Arts Leader in Public Engagement, for an interactive writing workshop inspired by the art and landscaping of Olympic Sculpture Park. Using her own background as a writer and educator, and informed by her work on this year’s Summer at SAM and SAM Remix, Isis will offer an engaging perspective on how we can draw inspiration and find connection through outdoor sculpture. As part of this tour, guests may participate in a guided poetry writing activity featuring several artworks at the park.

The group will meet on the north side of PACCAR Pavilion and is open to all staff, volunteers, and visitors. Writing materials will be provided.
