In my art, I explore various ways of observing and visually comprehending the weather through direct (human sight) and indirect means (satellite or radar imagery.) The artworks often result in paintings on paper and canvases that formally explore indexical shapes of clouds in combination with meticulously layered symbolic signs of targets or molecular formulas of greenhouse gasses. They are abstracted snapshots of land- and cloudscapes visibly marked with human activity. My art, full of vibrant colors and pulsating shapes, is about our changing interactions with the environment, where virtual and natural worlds become blurred, and about having space and freedom to imagine alternate environments and better solutions for the climate crisis in the future.
