The Seattle Asian Art Museum is bringing back Wednesdays, and the whole community is invited to celebrate the opening of Meot: Korean Art from the Frank Bayley Collection with free admission!
SAM is thrilled to bring the museum—our original home in Volunteer Park—back to a schedule of five days a week, Wednesday through Sunday, 10 am to 5 pm. Thanks to the support of the whole community, the arts in Seattle continue to thrive and we’re throwing the doors open for free.
Plus, it’s the opening day of the new exhibition Meot. Contemplate the exquisite beauty of Korean art across time with over 60 artworks from the collection of Frank Bayley (1939–2022), including an array of ceramics—Buncheong ware, whiteware, and blue-and-white—alongside paintings, photography, calligraphy, and wooden works. You can also explore the dynamic collection galleries, Boundless: Stories of Asian Art, which are organized in themes such as worship and celebration, visual arts and literature, and clothing and identity.
