SAM Gallery brings together artists Joseph Steininger and Catherine Eaton Skinner in Urban Zen this June.
The city surrounds us daily with swirling energy, moving us forward in haste. Many of us seek peace and solace in the midst of a forceful momentum. The pairing of two contrasting collections invites us to look at the grit of the city, juxtaposed with works that invoke a meditative state of mind. Joseph Steininger's multi-layered spray paint stencil work and the encaustic paintings of Catherine Eaton Skinner work together to move our minds from one extreme to the other, searching for the place in between where we find Urban Zen.
