Foster Galleries
Trained as an artist during the Cultural Revolution (1966â1976), Wan Qingli has had the opportunity to observe a wide range of human behavior. Wan uses his sharp brush to address contemporary social ills, drawing on the Chinese pictorial tradition of ink play. His ingenious and biting pictures are full of humor and universal themes. – Josh Yiu, Former Foster Foundation Curator of Chinese Art
