Jose Rodriguez III is an artist born and raised in Washington State with a Background in tattooing and traditional illustration. In 2010 he found himself being invited to group exhibitions at local galleries and from there began his Oil Painting journey. Falling in love with painting and developing a style of broad square brushstrokes and fine detail. Which in turn gives his work a slight mosaic feel he calls "simplified goodness". His work accentuates dynamic interplay of light, shadow and form through color theory; always with consciousness and efficiency to how the brushstrokes are organized on the canvas. Favorite subjects are diverse and constantly in flux, but include: the human figure, rainy days, shifting unban environments, street art, American car culture, native American culture, weathered rural and farmland vignettes, animals and the natural world.
