Pamela McClusky | Oliver E. and Pamela F. Cobb Curator of African and Oceanic Art
Respect for nature is taken to an entirely mesmerizing level by John Grade. His Middle Fork is a monument to a hemlock tree that over 4,000 people around the world helped him create. Since then, he has paid homage to prairie grass, cumulonimbus clouds, coccolithophores, and marsh sea grasses, as well as incorporated concern for wildfires and retreating glaciers. Join us for an evening with the artist to see what heâs been working on recently. After the talk, gather together under Middle Fork one last time for a farewell toast before it is sent on to its next destination.
