Conversations with Curators

This beloved members-only lecture series features monthly conversations with the creative forces behind SAM’s collections and exhibitions. Each season, SAM curators craft thoughtful and in-depth discussions around themes that encompass a wide range of approaches to examining art from SAM’s collection. Members are invited to attend the entire series or to attend individual lectures.

Ticket sales directly support this series and help SAM continue to provide engaging member-exclusive lectures and programs.

This Season
Dive into the rebellious side of art and explore artists who challenge traditional conventions—from ecological activism and Zen iconoclasts to surreal landscapes and queer representation. Each talk highlights the bold, unconventional, and thought-provoking ways art can rebel against norms and reflect the world around us.

This program is exclusively for SAM members.

Lectures take place every third Wednesday of the month between January and May.

Doors open at 6 pm for a short reception in the South Hall (with a free glass of wine!).

6:30–7:30 pm the lecture will take place in the Plestcheeff Auditorium, including a Q&A. 

$40 series pass / $10 single lecture ticket

Members may purchase individual tickets for their guests at $15 per lecture.
