From the miniature to the monumental, discover the work of American artist Alexander Calder in Calder: In Motion, The Shirley Family Collection at SAM. This 60-minute guided tour traces Calder's career, highlighting his revolutionary mobiles and stabiles as well as the most important themes, styles, and materials he explored from the 1920s through the 1970s. This inaugural Calder-focused exhibition is made possible by the generosity of patrons Jon and Kim Shirley in gifting the Shirley Family Calder Collection to the museum.
Tours will meet at the entry to the third floor double height galleries and are free with museum admission.
