Call your friends and bring the family, admission is FREE to everyone at the Seattle Art Museum on the first Thursday of every month.

In addition to our regular hours, Seattle Art Museum will be open for Free First Thursday evenings from 5–8 pm to provide more opportunities to visit the galleries for free! Evening hours will feature extra activities like live music, drop-in art making, and in-gallery experiences for visitors.

5–8 pm: Make jewelry inspired by Joyce J. Scott with teaching artist Kulla Jatani in the Brotman Forum

5–8 pm: Stop by SAM Gallery for the opening day of Invitation to Collect featuring work by local artists that will inspire to begin, or add to, your art collection.

5-5:30 pm: Docent tour of American Art: The Stories We Carry with Shirley Oliver in the 3rd floor galleries

5:15–5:45 pm: Docent tour of Yirrkala: Art From Australia’s Top End with Wendy Simons in the 3rd-floor galleries

5:30-7 pm: Make beaded coasters with teaching artist Anna Dong and SAM’s Teen Arts Group in the Brotman Forum
SAM's Teen Arts Group (TAG) invites all youth to join us as artist and educator Anna Dong (@annalearnsthings) leads folks through creating beaded coasters! Anna has been crafting unique beaded jewelry and accessories in Seattle since 2020, and her work shares many wonderful connections to our exhibition – Joyce J. Scott: Walk a Mile in My Dreams – now on view.

6:30-6:45 pm: “Both and Neither: Redefining Identity in American Culture” with artist Arami Walker in the American Art: The Stories We Carry exhibition on the 3rd floor.

Tickets are available both onsite and online.
