This workshop invites educators to explore the powerful connection between art, activism, and classroom learning through the lens of renowned Chinese contemporary artist and activist Ai Weiwei. Ai Weiweiâs work serves as a compelling entry point for arts-integrated instruction that sparks critical thinking, student voice, and social awareness.
Participants will engage in hands-on activities, explore student-led inquiry models, learn strategies to connect artistic practices with academic standards and social justice themes, and design interdisciplinary projects that engage students throughout this two-day in-person workshop.
This workshop is free to attend, but reservations are required. This workshop includes resources and Washington State Clock Hours. Kâ12 educators, paraeducators, subject area coaches, and administrators are welcome to attend.
