Happening this weekend
SAM Performs: Path with Art Community Orchestra
The Path with Art Community Orchestra is a genre-blending community band featuring violas, guitars, flutes, bass, drums, and more. Their repertoire spans tango, improvisational jams, and classic Beatles covers, offering a rich, inclusive sound that celebrates creativity, collaboration, and the power of shared expression.
The orchestra is part of Path with Art, a Seattle-based nonprofit that provides free year-round arts programming that supports post traumatic growth for individuals and communities. We believe in the healing power of art as a tool for creative expression, community, recovery, and stability. Through multidisciplinary arts programming, Path with Art builds community, restores dignity, and creates pathways to stability and healing.
SAM Creates: Nicho Workshop with Raquel Garcia
Join artist Raquel GarcĂa MartĂnez in creating a nichoâa small, handmade shrine traditionally used to honor loved ones or display meaningful images. Using recycled materials like foamboard and found objects, participants will design and decorate their own personal shadow boxes. Raquel is a self-taught artist from Tijuana, now based in Seattle. Her work is rooted in Mexican folk art and reflects themes of culture, identity, and everyday life.
