Conversations with Curators

Five people sit in an empty theater, each holding a wine glass. They are casually posing, looking towards the camera, with relaxed expressions. Theater seats and a spotlight in the background create a warm atmosphere.

About

This beloved members-only lecture series features monthly conversations with the creative forces behind SAM’s collections and exhibitions. Each season, SAM curators craft thoughtful and in-depth discussions around themes that encompass a wide range of approaches to examining art from SAM’s collection. Members are invited to attend the entire series or to attend individual lectures.

Ticket sales directly support this series and help SAM continue to provide engaging member-exclusive lectures and programs.

This Season
Dive into the rebellious side of art and explore artists who challenge traditional conventions—from ecological activism and Zen iconoclasts to surreal landscapes and queer representation. Each talk highlights the bold, unconventional, and thought-provoking ways art can rebel against norms and reflect the world around us.
