On SAM Body + Mind Saturday evenings, enjoy performances featuring local and visiting storytellers, poets, and creative organizations.
Inside proudly presents a curated poetry show, an evening where words create a sanctuary for the soul. Rooted in their steadfast belief in the power of self-expression, Inside invites you to partake in an event that mirrors their mission of fostering self-discovery and healing.
The headlining poet of the evening is E.J. Koh, the author of the novel The Liberators, which won The New York Public Library Young Lions Fiction Award. Koh is also the author of the memoir The Magical Language of Others, which won a Washington State Book Award, Pacific Northwest Book Award, Association for Asian American Studies Book Award, and was longlisted for the PEN/Open Book Award. Her work has appeared in AGNI, The Atlantic, Boston Review, Los Angeles Review of Books, The Paris Review, Poetry, Teen Vogue, and World Literature Today.
